LIFE IP Rich Waters, implemented 2017 – 2025, has tackled some of the most serious environmental problems that affect the quality and vitality of the water bodies of the Northern Baltic Sea River Basin. The focus has been on six main thematic areas: stormwater, environmental pollutants, free fish migration, internal loading, municipal water planning and eutrophication from agriculture. eutrophication, barriers to fish migration and environmental pollutants. The project was a unique partnership between authorities, municipalities, companies, researchers and water conservation associations – for the benefit of our common waters.
